When we started looking into pet insurance for our own dogs, we found the same problem everywhere: vague ranges, pushy quote forms that required your phone number, and no real way to understand why one pet costs more to insure than another.
So we built PawPrice — a straightforward estimator that shows you a realistic monthly cost range based on your pet's actual breed, age, location, and the coverage level you want. No email required. No phone calls. Just a quick, honest number.
Our mission is simple: give pet owners the information they need to make a smart decision about pet insurance — before they ever talk to a salesperson.
How Our Estimates Work
Our calculator uses industry-wide averages from major U.S. pet insurance providers including Healthy Paws, Lemonade, Embrace, and Trupanion. We factor in four key variables that drive the biggest differences in real premiums:

PawPrice is an independent estimator tool. We are not an insurance company, broker, or agent. We don't sell insurance and we're not affiliated with any specific provider.
Our estimates are based on broad industry averages and are designed to give you a realistic ballpark — not a binding quote. Actual premiums depend on your specific pet's health history, the exact deductible and reimbursement rate you choose, and which provider you select. We always recommend getting at least 2–3 direct quotes before purchasing.
Transparency on How We Make Money
PawPrice is free to use and always will be. We keep the lights on through two sources: display advertising (Google AdSense) shown on our pages, and affiliate referral links to pet insurance providers. If you click a "Get Quotes" link and purchase a policy, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This never influences our estimates or the information we publish.
